Gypsies are Found near Heaven

The film is based on the early stories by the outstanding Soviet writer Maxim Gorky.
There are several interwoven love lines in this beautiful, poetic drama: of the proud beauty Rada who bewitched the horse thief Loiko Zobar, of golden-haired Yulishka who was in love with Loiko, of noble Siladi, passionately enamored of Rada… The action in the Gypsy camp is set against the background of lifestyle and traditions of the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s provincial outskirts – the late 19th-century Bessarabia.
